Freeroam #2 Update

This update brings some great gameplay improvements to the table and the concept of server lobbies and lobby portals!

  • Added 4 new server lobbies, which can be accessed via lobby portals (by @nex)
  • Added 30+ lobby portals around the map. More coming soon (by @nex)
  • Added a new meet zone near Vespucci Beach (by @nex)
  • Added protection against certain vehicle categories entering zones and lobbies with passive mode forced (by @nex)
  • Fixed a bug where players could be be sometimes damaged while in passive mode (by @nex)
  • Fixed a bug where players would be able to select weapons in and out of vehicles with passive mode enabled (by @nex)
  • Fixed a bug where the HUD (next to the minimap/radar) would still display during player switching sequences (by @nex)
  • Improved collisions between players with passive mode enabled. Collisions between other players on your screen are still not synced though (by @nex)


Here's a basic run-down of each lobby type:

  • Main: Everything is enabled here, just like how it was before this update. This is the only lobby where passive mode can be toggled.
  • Chill: This lobby is for people who would like to chill-out (at car meets for example). Weapons and combat are forcefully disabled in this lobby.
  • Drift: This is just like the chill lobby, but only drift zones are visible. Weapons and combat are forcefully disabled in this lobby.
  • PvP: A lobby for the chaotic and competitive PvP'ers. PvP is enabled in this zone and can only be avoided by using safe zones placed around the map.



  • Lobby portals serve as a way to change your current lobby.
  • Lobbies separate different groups of players by the activities that they would like to do.
  • You will only see players that are in the same lobby as you. This works perfectly fine with AI/traffic too, but traffic is not currently enabled for performance reasons.
  • The colour of the floating marker at a lobby portal indicates your current lobby (as its based on its colour).
  • Some zones (such as meet and drift zones) will only be available in their respective lobbies. The only exception to this is the main lobby, since all zones are visible there.
  • Certain vehicle classes/types are now blacklisted from drift/meet zones and lobbies (such as Military vehicles for example).
  • The PvP lobby is still freeroam, just a more PvP-focused one. There are no PvP stats/goals yet but they are planned features that we'll be implementing soon!
